World Vision Ukraine Crisis Appeal Update
When crisis gripped their country many Ukrainians lost everything and were forced to flee their country. Many of these families went to neighbouring Romania where they are now safe, warm and nourished. They've received essentials like infant formula, food, warm blankets, hygiene kits and cash assistance from World Vision. More than $5 million was raised across Canada to help these children and their families. At Clarke's Beach United we are so proud to have been a part of this humanitarian effort and our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to help achieve our goal of $1,000.00. God Bless!

Time of gathering: Bev & Joe
Musical Prelude
Personal Meditation - A Quiet time to prepare ourselves for worship.
Introit:
Shepherd of love,
You knew I had lost my way;
Shepherd of love,
You cared that I'd gone astray.
You sought and found me, placed around me
Strong arms that carried me home;
No foe can harm me or alarm me,
Never again will I roam.
Shepherd of love,
Saviour and Lord and Guide;
Shepherd of love,
Forever I'll stay by Your side.
Lighting The Candles: (unison)
The light of these candles is a reflection of the light that brightens these northern lands at this time of year, a reminder of the turning of the earth and the turning of the seasons, which are in such contrast in our latitude. This light is light of presence, this light is light of clarity, this light is light of hope. This light is the Christ light among us.
Welcome and Announcements
Call to Worship: (responsive)
Jesus the Christ said, I am the Good Shepherd.
We have come to follow Him.
We gather in the name of the One who leads us by still waters.
We have come to be restored in Him.
We gather in the name of the One who prepares a banquet for us.
We have come to be fed by His love, so let us worship God.
Prayer of Approach:
Loving God, our shepherd, guide and giver of life.
You nourish our lives and lead us into green pastures.
You restore our souls with rest and peace.
You give us joy so our lives overflows with goodness and grace.
You walk with us through the darkest valleys,
offering us courage and compassion.
At all times and in all circumstances, You are with us,
Creator, Christ, and Holy Spirit, so we praise You, Holy One, here and now, now and always. Amen.
Hymn: VU # 158 “Christ, Is Alive”
Prayer of Confession: (unison)
God of mercy, You lead us into green pastures,
but our lifestyles put those pastures at risk.
You offer us rest, but we like to pursue our goals,
whatever the cost to the earth or our health.
You call us to show compassion, but we are quick to judge others. Forgive us and humble us to live with respect in creation.
Assurance of Pardon:
Jesus said, come to me all you who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Friends, trust that peace and forgiveness are God’s gift to you this day. Be renewed by the power of the Spirit that moves with you into each new day.
Prayer of Illumination:
God of Word and Wisdom, send us Your Holy Spirit as we listen to the witness of Your people in the Scriptures. May we claim the story of Your redeeming love again, and praise You with our lives through Christ, our Lord and Guide. Amen.
First Lesson: Acts 4: 5 - 12
Responsive Psalm # 23
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside still waters;[a]
3 he restores my soul.[b]
He leads me in right paths[c]
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,[d]
I fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely[e] goodness and mercy[f] shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
my whole life long.[g]
